"It was a great environment, and the people I met were very enthusiastic about what they do. "

  • Peter Jaros
"What a great way for Meetup to do HR! I had a great time."

  • Martine Mayas
"Innovative & Unique.... Very Informative....An excellent way to get insight from people and listen to the input of others. "

  • Linda
"A really nice, diverse group of people who were very passionate about Meetup!"

  • Bob
"Given the often frigid attitude one receives from HR, which is empowered as a crowd control vehicle to keep people at a distance and treat us like germs (i.e. don?t come near us until we say you can), this was a welcome change. Clearly you practice what you preach. Two-way meaningful information was communicated. That key figures made themselves personally available speaks well of the company. Holding the meeting on your premises is a boost because getting an idea of the physical environment one might be working in has value. Even better would be a short tour, or in place of that a slide presentation, or photo book. On the whole there was a feeling of warmth and encouragement. One slightly out of tune note is your thirst for our feedback without giving in kind. There was the friendly warning that if we are not called back for a closer look, that we should not come to you asking why. Meetup.com wants to improve on performance. So do we. Some measure of candidate feedback and where you sense we might fit in, now or down the line, could make this an even more enlightened recruiting collaboration. Private emails could do the trick. If you sense some connection, let us know. "

"Lots of interesting people, and a very casual, enjoyable atmosphere. Learned a lot about the company and where it's going, and the special guest appearance from the co-founder and CEO was a nice touch. Plus, free snacks are always good. I think hearing from maybe one or two people in other departments (customer support, engineering, etc.) would give a better overall feeling about how the different sides of the organization feel about working there, but I still got a pretty good idea without."
