Thank you for giving me the opportunity to talk to someone other than my students!!! Just kiddding :) I initially thought Meetup was just that... meeting with people who share common interests. Hearing about the social change Meetup.com is facilitating ,both in the States and abroad, has fortified my interest in working and participating in Meetup.com. Thank you again to Linda and Erin for a smart approach to find smart people. Thank you everyone else for sharing your experiences.

"I thought this was an interesting use of a Meetup. I felt excited to have an avenue to make face to face contact with Linda and Erin. I wonder if other companies could be convinced to attempt this. Maybe there is a paper in it Linda. Good to meet everyone. "

  • Kristen
"Initially skeptical of Meetup being too technical, but a great group of diverse professionals. Came away inspired by the organization's vision, unconventional yet motivational branding, and how the team is living out their manifesto through recent decentralization and strategy efforts. Good luck to Linda and Erin in recruiting others who will continue to make a difference..and keep in touch if I can be part of the movement! Also, thanks to Erik for the cookies!"

"I really appreciated Linda's insight into Meetup. She setup an environment for sharing, and I was glad to meet other Meetup.com members and organizers in a different setting. I was a little surprised how the group took on a formal group interview format at first, but quickly adjusted."

"Very interesting learning about how Meetup approaches and edorses a collaborative workplace environment. Although this particular Meetup had very little to do with my skill set and goals, it certainly was informative and quite captivating. I walked away with a sense that Meetup has a vision which I would be proud to be a part of."
